Does TV make you FAT? :O (part 1)
This is something that really intrigues me but that I do not believe there is an easy answer to. If you really think about it, every second you waste with your eyes glued to a screen is a second of your life that you will never regain. Obesity, stupidity, and alcoholism are just 3 of the many ill effects which plague many habitual television watchers, I’m sure even you the reader can think of a few personal examples. Maybe the habit of constantly watching tv is just a symptom of the lazy, just as obesity or should I just be frank and say fat. The more I explore this topic, the more I find interesting information regarding those poor souls who find pleasure by simply viewing a series of pictures in conjunction with an audio track and perhaps a snack full of trans fat which slowly clogs up their arteries bite by bite. Maybe the real culprit behind this habit is a low IQ or intelligence. If that’s the case then I applaud you the reader for your undoubtable high intelligence, a precursor for reading this blog! Personally I do not care much at all for television as you may have guessed, I however find addiction very interesting especially self-destructive actions like television.
The average adult watches about 30 hours of TV each week and make up anywhere from 2-12 percent of viewers. A study at Harvard University has linked TV to obesity which also suggests cutting down on TV may prove useful in lowering weight. Two studies that followed children from birth found that TV viewing in childhood predicts obesity risk well into adulthood and mid-life. The correlation is clear what I do not understand however, is WHY someone would want to watch a lot of TV?
I will explore this angle in my next article, thank you for visiting this blog if you have any ideas which you feel may assist me please don’t hesitate to email me. Thanks, BF
